The Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Program provides free training programs that lead to a state or industry recognized credential for in-demand careers.
GEER funding helps cover all costs associated with these programs including registration/tuition fees, books, supplies, credentialing tests, and other related costs of these courses. Eligible GEER classes for Summer 2021 are listed below.

Qualified electricians are always in demand. This Electrical Technician Level I class is based on the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum.
This program will provide students with the skills and basic information needed to sit for the Certified Coding Associate exam through the AHIMA and may also open entry level doors to opportunities in the health specialty of medical coding.
Phlebotomist are medical professionals who work in a variety of settings collecting blood. Generally, the purpose of drawing the blood is for sample work, but Certified Phlebotomy Technicians (CPT) may be responsible for conducting patient interviews, checking vital signs, and transporting the blood samples to a laboratory for testing purposes.

Earn a national credential in the ever-evolving field of heating and air condition. Students will also have the opportunity to sit for the NC State EPA certification exam upon completion of the course.
This program provides participants with the basic information and skills needed to take the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEx) offered by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB). Graduates who pass this exam may apply for licensure to practice in North Carolina.
