Paralegal Certificate Studies Program

The Paralegal Studies program prepares students who already possess an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree for a career as a Paralegal. The North Carolina State Bar Board of Paralegal Certification has approved and designated Mayland Community College’s paralegal studies certificate program as a qualified paralegal studies program.

What you'll learn

The paralegal curriculum is divided into paralegal skills courses and law coursework. (330 Hours)

Training Includes:

  • Legal research and writing
  • Criminal law and procedure
  • Civil litigation and injuries
  • Real property
  • Wills/estates
  • Family and commercial law
  • Ethics

Admission Requirements:

  • Must possess an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any college or university that is accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the US Department of Education

Cost of Class:

  • Tuition/Registration: $180
  • Text: $550 (subject to change)
  • Certification exam: $225
